About NEMT Kenya
Care doesn’t stop at the hospital door — neither do we.
We started NEMT Kenya to close a gap families feel every day: getting a loved one who uses a wheelchair, stretcher, or simply needs a steady arm, safely between home and care.
Our manifesto
We stand with families.
Before the vehicles. Before the ramps. Before the schedules. Here’s the truth of it.
We’re for the community. For inclusion. For the underserved. We won’t forget you.
Getting a loved one to care and back again is hard, quiet work. Families shouldn’t carry it alone. Not anymore.
An appointment is a promise. A reason to get dressed, get out, get on with life. Something to look forward to — that’s not nothing. We keep the promise.
Every client rides the way we’d want our own blood to ride. Unhurried. Unembarrassed. Safe. No exceptions.
Dignity isn’t extra. It isn’t an upgrade. It’s the fare. Every time.
This site. This fleet. This whole outfit. Built with love, built with compassion, by people who’ve sat in the same waiting rooms as you. That’s not a slogan. That’s the truth.
— NEMT KENYA. FAMILY BUSINESS.
Mission
To move every client — seated, on a stretcher, or using a wheelchair — safely, comfortably and on time, with the same care we’d want for our own family.
Vision
A Kenya where non-emergency medical transport and accessible mobility are dependable, dignified and within reach in every city we serve.
Our theory of change
When transport is dependable, everything else becomes possible.
In Kenya, non-emergency medical transport for wheelchair users is unreliable — matatus can’t take a wheelchair, and most taxis have nowhere to fit a stretcher. For too many families, that gap decides whether a dialysis session, a chemotherapy appointment or a check-up actually happens.
We close it with a dedicated fleet of ramp- and lift-equipped vehicles, AMREF-trained driver-attendants, and plans built around real needs — a single transfer, the Tiba Bundle for recurring appointments, Delivering Smiles for care at home, or a mobility aid rented by the day.
The result: fewer missed appointments, less time families spend coordinating logistics, and more seniors and people with disabilities able to keep working, worshipping and visiting family on their own schedule — not around whatever transport happens to be available.
